34 Weeks!

We've made another milestone...according to popular conjecture, the lungs are fully developed at this point. In reality, hers have probably been ready for a while because of the steroids she was given at 28 weeks, but for sure by now they are ready. While we met with our doctor in LaCrosse on Friday he said that at this point, if we go into labor, they would do nothing to stop it. The baby is developed enough to just let her come when she wants at this point, I'll probably go until 41 weeks with my luck though :) Despite the fact that she may be okay to be born now, we'd like at least another full week and one day so we can make it up to LaCrosse and get settled in first still.

The trip went well over the weekend, Sophie slept in the big girl twin size bed and only woke up on the floor one morning. She still isn't feeling well though, yesterday she was bawling and squishing her ear twice-once on the car ride which was horrible and once right when she woke up. Today she had a high fever when she woke up, but Motrin is dealing with it. She goes back to the doctor next Monday for a follow up.

As for the week ahead, I have an ultra sound on Wednesday to check my amniotic fluid level and a check-up Thursday. Hopefully we get a 3-D u/s done, I think this is our last chance!

  1. So glad to hear you've made the 34 week milestone!! If you need any help once you get to La Crosse, let me know - we're just a few miles away in Holmen!
